Resources for culturally and linguistically diverse communities
Resources for Youth
In a changing world with instant messaging, mobile phones and the internet, what is and isn’t acceptable behaviour can be confusing. Differing cultural practices and traditions to mainstream Australian society can create even more confusion. We have a range of materials specifically for young people with diverse cultural backgrounds to help understand where different people draw the line.
A series of culturally appropriate English language advertisements for young people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds have been developed for the ethnic press and radio and several online sites. Check them out below.
Resources for Parents
The Line is what is and isn’t acceptable in relationships and the meaning of respect. Parents play an important role in helping their children develop respectful relationships and provide an understanding that violence and abuse in relationships is unacceptable.
There’s a brochure specifically for parents with diverse cultural backgrounds that provides information about the main issues, tips about how to address them and where to go for help.
