About Maya

An inspiring live performer, recording artist and media personality (Triple J and Channel V) Maya Jupiter has worked both sides of the microphone to spread the word about Australian hip hop.

Maya's 2007 album with MC Trey and DJ Nick Troth under the moniker Foreign Heights was nominated for ARIA and Australian Urban Music Awards for the stunning Get Yours track.

Her brand new album Maya Jupiter is fuelled by Maya's Mexican heritage mixed with her longstanding love affair with Latino beats. Lyrically it sizzles with incisive rhymes and socially charged observations that avoid cliché and moral truisms in favour of personal affirmation.

She says she joined The Line campaign because she believes: "We do have the power to change this behaviour and this culture of violence in our society, and I just want to be part of the movement. I believe that we are all worthy of love and respect."

The Line is proud to present Phenomenal, a standout track from Maya's new album. Enjoy.
